Who Noticed You Today?

I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God.  Exodus 3:6

Dear Family,

At times, when I come to be with my heavenly Father, I sense a special grace inviting me to draw near to His sweet, uncomfortable Presence. My first response? I am instantly stopped, subject to His Presence I fall on my knees, covering my face with both hands. Reading in Exodus 3, Moses had such a response when he turned aside to see why the bush was burning, but did not burn up. It was then Moses heard the Lord call his name! If I saw a house on fire but it was not burning up, I would stop, my jaw ajar and like Moses I would have some questions.

Moses ask: ‘Why”…  his question caused him to turn aside and brought him face to face with God! What was so interesting was God did not speak to Moses until he turned aside; seeking an answer to a puzzling circumstance. This unburnable bush was not a daily occurrence while shepherding the flocks of his father-in-law. God can speak to us in the ordinary or while we are on the run, but to enjoy His holy Presence and be ‘in awe’ of Him, such deep communion with God just cannot be hurried. To know such intimacy as Moses experienced, we must turn aside from the mundane… from the rat race and We may enjoy His word and pour out our needs, but to deeply meet with Him takes time.

Those with families to care for, especially a family with young children, will find they need to learn to be content with what ever time they can grasp to feed on His word and pray, and then go on their way singing. I love the stage of life I experience, for I am not restrained with the busyness of young ones and I can ‘enjoy’ His word and His Presence without one eye on children or the clock. There is a time for every season of life.

During this time, while the Israelites were in bondage and groaning in their suffering, the King of Egypt died. Their cry for help rose up to God. He heard and He remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This next verse moved my heart and set my feet to dancing.
God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them.” Exodus 2:25

This is a “put your name in it verse”!!  ‘God saw ___________, and took notice of ____________.  Do you believe this truth? God knows the way you take (Job 23:10) God knows and He cares and takes notice of you. I hope this reminder lifts your spirit today. God takes notice of you, of every little detail of your life and will speak to you through His Word and by His Holy Spirit.

Questions:
Why should the God of wonder and majesty bend so low as to take notice of us?
Why should He become sin for us, he who knew no sin and then in turn give us His righteousness?
Why should He leave heaven to be pushed through the womb of a virgin, walk the earth He made, to die in our place on the Cross? Why should He care?

There is much to deplore in my past but it does not fill me with dread, no I am ever grateful!! Thankful Jesus did come, did die, did forgive and did cleanse me giving me His righteousness! God only accepts what Christ did at Calvary’s Cross, for me! All I am, all I was, all my failure and sin, only make His perfection more necessary to my heart. Weakness and failure to live righteously leads me to rejoice, for I am then crowded to Christ. I cover my face in awe of Him.

The secret of being like the Lord Jesus is, that we are to count ourselves dead to the old and alive in the new. We are to give up our self-efforts after likeness to Him; we are to distrust our own strength as much as we distrust our own weakness and our own sin; and instead of striving to live like the Lord Jesus, let Him live through us, as He greatly desires to do.” CAC

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him. Matthew 17:5

Lord, I want to hear Your voice. I want to enjoy You. I just get so busy and weary of fending off all the world hurls at me, the empty, the lust filled, the evil, all that the world calls good; give me discernment and the grace to resist temptations of body and spirit, by counting myself dead to sin and alive to You. I will only know resurrection life as I yield to Your Holy Spirit. O that I would walk in humility with a servant’s spirit and make a difference in this godless culture. Peace and Joy and power to Love are the fruit of Your Spirit, not something I can effectively imitate. Teach me to receive Your Victory which You have already won and now provide. I am so thankful the battle is Yours and because of Calvary and an empty tomb I can walk humbly with You. I love You Lord. Remind my brothers and sisters You take notice of them and know them intimately. You have their names written on the palm of Your hand.

What a Savior!
